It’s been a while since I last post recipe on savory dish. Last week on a rare night, I got to cooked myself a dinner. It’s a simple tenderloin rubbed in dry herbs & spices, grilled to medium, the way I like my steak to be. At first I thought about some mashed potato, but then I saw my big grater, so I decided on hash brown. I loooove hash brown!
Ingredients :
- 200 grams beef tenderloin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cayene powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- a drizzle of olive oil
- 1 potato, coarsely grated
- 1 carrot coarsely grated
- 1/2 cup of frozen peas
- pinch of salt & pepper
Directions :
- mix all the dry herb & spices, rub on each side of the tenderloin. Set aside and let rest for about 30 minutes
- drizzle the olive oil on a grilling pan, grilled the tenderloin for about 5 minutes on each side (10 minutes total). If you like your steak welldone, grilled for about 15 minutes total.
- while the steak is resting, season the grated potato with S&P, drizzle a pan with olive oil, put the potato on the pan, push with a spatula, forming a pancake like shape. Cook on both side until brown
- sautee the carrot & peas, season with S&P
- slice the tenderloin about 2cm thick
- assemble the hash brown and then the carrot & peas, and lastly the beef tenderloin on top
